Schroon Lake dispatched Wells, 38-22, in Mountain and Valley Athletic Conference girls basketball action Dec. 17.
The Wildcats led all the way, icing the contest with a 14-5 spurt to open the second half.
Miranda DeZalia tallied 12 points to lead Schroon Lake.
Clare Whitney added eight points and 13 rebounds for the Wildcats.
Boys basketball
Moriah 55, Saranac Lake 40
Moriah downed Saranac Lake, 55-40, in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference boys basketball play Dec. 17.
The Vikings led all the way, taking a 15-8 lead and never looking back.
Adam Jaquish scored 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Moriah.
Mike Mero added 12 points for the Vikings. Derek Brassard had 11 points, 10 rebounds and five assists for the winners.
Schroon 75, Wells 29
Schroon Lake crushed Wells, 75-29, in Mountain and Valley Athletic Conference boys basketball action Dec. 17.
The Wildcats raced to a 23-10 lead in the opening quarter and rolled to the victory.
Jesse Shaughnessy scored 28 points for the ‘Cats.
Jeff Armstrong scored 16 points Bobby Rose added 11 for Schroon.
Bowling
Moriah falls
Moriah lost to Peru in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference bowling Dec. 17.
The Vikings dropped the boys match, 8 1/2 - 1 1/2.
Dillon Adkins topped Moriah with a 494 series.
Moriah lost the girls match, 4-0.
Kayla Joy led Moriah with a 319 series.
