North Creek Frontier Communications phone and Internet services have been down throughout parts of Essex, Warren and Hamilton counties since early Wednesday morning, Oct. 10.
Phones and Internet are down due to a cut in the fiber optic line at an unknown location, according to Frontier Media Relations Officer Stephanie Schifano, who said there is no estimated time of completion to restore service.
Towns and communities with no phone line/Internet communication include: Indian Lake, Blue Mountain Lake, Johnsburg, North Creek, Minerva, Long Lake, Newcomb, Chestertown, Pottersville, Brant Lake, Adirondack and Schroon Lake.
Some customers calling on cell phones have said they can receive calls but not make them. Some phone lines are out completely. And Frontier Internet has been totally out in other towns as well, such as Inlet, according to officials at the Inlet Information Office.
Customers of other phone providers such as Time Warner Cable have had continued service throughout the day.
More information will be provided as it becomes available.
