Port Henry man accused of stealing from business

A Port Henry man was arrested Jan. 31 for allegedly stealing money from his employer’s business.

Arthur F. Pelkey, 35, a fuel truck operator, allegedly stole cash from his employer’s customers that was intended as payment to the business, state police said.

Pelkey was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, a felony.

He was arraigned and sent to Essex County Jail where he later posted $1,500 cash bail, police said.

Ti man charged

A Ticonderoga man was arrested following an alleged domestic dispute Feb. 9 on Father Jogues Place in Ticonderoga.

Joshua Gijanto, 32, was charged with second-degree burglary, a felony; endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor; and second-degree harassment, a violation.

Police said the dispute began during child exchange or pickup. Gijanto allegedly forced his way into the house, leading to the burglary charges.

Gijanto was arraigned in front of Moriah Town Justice Brian Venne and sent to Essex County Jail.

Putnam man charged after crash

A Putnam man was taken to a Vermont hospital after a Feb. 15 accident, according to state police.

Alfred L. Mattison, 63, was taken to Fletcher Allen Health Care Center in Burlington, Vt., after the 12:30 p.m. one-vehicle crash, police said.

Officials said he drove off the highway, hitting a ditch and becoming airborne and hitting trees, police said.

Mattison suffered facial injuries and internal injuries that included possible broken ribs, and was taken to Moses Ludington Hospital before being transferred to the Vermont hospital. His condition was not available early Saturday.

Mattison was charged with misdemeanor DWI, police said.

Mineville man arrested

A Mineville man was arrested Dec. 29 for violating an order of protection.

Martin J. Kedmenec, 48, allegedly texted a woman, violating a court-issued order of protection, state police said.

Kedmenec was charged with first-degree criminal contempt using a telephone, a felony; resisting arrest, a misdemeanor; second-degree harassment, a violation; and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.

Kedmenec was arraigned and sent to Essex County Jail.
